The University of King’s Library was established by Charles Inglis, first bishop of Nova Scotia and founder of the university. Its current building opened in 1989 as part of the school’s bicentennial. In addition to typical university library holdings, it has a large collection of historical records, publications and photographs generated by or relating to the university, as well as books and manuscripts concerning the early history of the Anglican Church in Canada. It also has Inuit and Micmac artifacts and a collection of European Paleolithic material.
