The Simon Paneak Memorial Museum opened in 1986 and contains roughly 200 Nunamiut Inupiat objects from the North Central Brooks Range of Northern Alaska. The pieces, including a caribou skin tent and traditional clothing, were obtained through donations by visiting scientists and local residents. Some items are on loan from other museums. Most of the pieces are on display and storage is accessible to qualified researchers.
