Founded in 1981, the Musée des Religions opened its doors in its present location ten years later. From a perspective of history, ethnology, and art, the museum looks at the experience of religion as it occurs around the world. It has an active program of changing exhibitions and in the past has staged shows on the art of Tibet, the Huichol, and other world cultures. The museum’s permanent collection holds objects from Africa and Canadian Aboriginal cultures.
