The ethnographic collection of Libourne was acquired by the municipality in 1887 from Louis August Pères, who had spent an important part of his life assembling a curiosity cabinet consisting of objects from Oceania and Africa. An overmodeled skull from the Solomon Islands is among the highlights of this collection of about a thousand pieces.
