Reopened in 2004, the Musée de l'Hôtel Sandelin holds an ethnographic collection that consists of about 600 pieces, mostly from Central African cultures. Some of the objects were collected by a former customs official in the Congo. Oceania is represented by a fine group of twenty-five Fijian tapa cloths, a Cook Islands spear, a New Zealand Maori spear, and a group of relatively recent items from the Marquesas Islands.
