Since its opening in 1999, the Musée Asiatica has shown its nearly 1,000 pieces from the Michel Postel collection of Indian art in its 800-square-meter exhibition halls. The display includes ethnographic works from Bastar and Assam, as well as antiquities from other parts of India, China, and Nepal. Postel was a French industrialist who lives in Bombay for forty years, and also founded the Project for Indian Culture Studies in 1978.
