Opened on Nov. 15, 1996, the Musée Angladon owes its existence to a bequest made by Avignon artist Jean Angladon-Dubrujeaud. Dubrujeaud was the son of the nephew of Jacques Doucet, a noted nineteenth century collector and patron of such artists as Max Jacob and André Breton. In addition to masterpieces by Van Gogh, Picasso, Cézanne, Derain, Fujita, and Modigliani, the museum exhibits three Dan, Fang, and Baga masks from the Doucet collection, purchased in the 1920s from Paul Guillaume.
