The National Museum of Ceramics of the Netherlands, founded in 1917, houses a collection that primarily represents the works of European, Asian, and Islamic cultures.
About 100 Pre-Columbian pieces were added to the collection between 1940 and 1977. They are mostly from Central America—especially Mexico—but also include some South American works.
The entire collection is held in storage, and the museum does not anticipate enlarging its holdings.
