The de Saisset Museum at Santa Clara University is a free museum of art and history serving the region immediately south of San Francisco. The museum was founded through a bequest from Isabel de Saisset in 1955. Since then its collections have expanded to include thousands of objects, including approximately fifty Native American projectile points and charm stones, 113 Native American baskets, and twenty-three works of ethnographic African art.
The de Saisset’s permanent installation includes a gallery dedicated to California History, which includes much of its Native American material. Objects in storage are available to qualified researchers by appointment.
