The only recognized museum in Inuit territory, the Daniel Weetaluktuk Museum, which opened in 1992, is devoted to protecting and disseminating the culture and language of the Nunavik Inuit people. Its installations investigate the roots of Inuit culture, past and present, through a collection of objects, artwork, and costumes displayed in their cultural context.
