The first special issue of Tribal Art magazine, entirely dedicated to the exhibition Visual Encounters at the Beyeler Foundation.
In this era of intellectual timidity and conformity, spending a little time at the Beyeler Foundation is just the thing. There, under the curatorial eye of Oliver Wick, some 200 exceptional pieces of tribal art drawn from the world’s most important public and private collections have been brought together and are being shown side by side with canvases and sculptures by Braque, Léger, Mondrian, Picasso, and other great Western artists.
